Privacy Policy
Summary
SteadyScale stores all of your data on your device and in your personal iCloud account. We do not operate servers that receive, store, or process your weight data. We cannot see your data, and we do not sell it.
Data we collect
Weight measurements and settings — stored locally on your device using an on-device database. If iCloud backup is enabled (the default), a copy is stored in your personal iCloud account under your Apple ID. This backup is controlled by Apple's iCloud infrastructure and is accessible only to you.
Crash reports — if you opt in via Settings, anonymous crash logs may be sent to help us fix bugs. These logs never contain your weight data, name, or Apple ID.
Subscription status — managed by Apple through the App Store. We receive a confirmation that your subscription is active but do not receive your payment details.
Data we do not collect
- No account or login required
- No analytics or usage tracking
- No advertising identifiers
- No personal or weight data shared with third parties (anonymous crash logs are the sole exception, and only if you opt in)
iCloud backup
When iCloud backup is enabled, your full dataset is written to your iCloud account each time you log a measurement. This allows you to restore your data on a new device by signing into the same Apple ID. You can disable iCloud backup at any time in Settings.
Data export and deletion
You can export all of your data as a CSV file at any time via Settings. To delete your data, delete the app — all local data is removed immediately. iCloud backup data can be removed through your iCloud storage settings.
Children
SteadyScale is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above.
